Young Scientist On The Move

My students need 15 lab coats in order to conduct ongoing science experiments, 15 thermometers in order to carry out experiments that involve temperature changes and an additional triple beam balance to enable all students to work in groups to determine the mass and density of objects.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A science class that uses inquiry and scientific experiments to facilitate the acquisition of scientific knowledge.

Most students in the class are ELL's and are also title 1 students. their previous experience in scientific experiments has been very limited but based on the few experiments we have done as a class, has caused their interest in the subject to be increased to a high level.

The triple beam balance, the safety coats and the thermometers are just some of the basic materials we will use to complete hands on activities such as heat, density, mass, graphing, etc. The acquisition of lab coats will certainly increase the self esteem of my students who will develop the feeling of a scientist as they dress like a scientist.

You will make it possible for my students to develop a greater understanding of the nature and the process of science by contributing these basic materials for my science class. The hands on activities will increase student curiosity and minimize boredom and talk in the teaching of science.
