This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I am a second grade general education teacher in the South Bronx (New York City Public School System). I have twenty one bright students.
Students are individuals with different learning styles. Some are visual learners, while others are tactile learners. Those who learn visually need to see print in front of them. It improves their literacy. In my experience, students enjoy shared reading and having copies at their fingertips. It keeps them focused, motivated, and involved in the lesson.
Students also need reproducibles during mathematics. The program used in New York City Public Schools requires an abundance of copies, for almost all lessons, as well as games, explorations, and independent work.
Unfortunately, there is only one copy machine in my school building, which tends to malfunction frequently. At times, my school doesn't have the funds to maintain a service contract on the machine, and the copier goes unfixed for days. When it is in good working condition, it takes seven to ten school days to receive them. This is a terrible inconvenience.
You can help to advance the students' reading and writing proficiency.
Thank you for considering my request. I appreciate concern for students, because after all, they come first. I know the students, as well as other second grade classroom teachers will most appreciate the donation.
