Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a special education teacher at PS 345, a Title I school located in the East New York community where over 98% of the students eat free lunch.
My proposal is for a classroom SMART Board for my third, fourth and fifth grade students to use to bring their lessons to life while improving classroom participation and test scores.
I believe that the use of a SMART Board - which is a dry erase board that connects to a computer and a projector which uses touch screen and sensor technology - would encourage my students to be more creative, increase active classroom participation, build self-esteem, and improve standardized test scores on the New York State and City Assessment.
I feel that, providing them with this opportunity to be exposed to new, exciting and unfamiliar ways of learning through technology and media would: encourage my students to learn through differentiated instruction, provide them with a sense of ownership in their learning, ignite a zest and passion in my students to learn something new, and boost their test scores and self-esteem. Thank you for considering this proposal.
