I am the art and music teacher at a high school in Brooklyn. Our school is a Title I school in which 86 percent of the students are eligible for the government-funded free-lunch program. The students are trying hard to graduate from high school despite very difficult lives and many obstacles. These students are very poor and disadvantaged, yet they value education and are coming to school weekdays, nights, and Saturdays to make sure they graduate. We are struggling in this alternative high school of 300 students to get basic items needed for our art room. We don't even have a sink in our room, but what would really help right now would be a paper cutter so all the students could cut and mat their beautiful art work to hang on the walls in the school. Cutting the boards and heavy papers that we get for free as recycled material is really not possible with the kindergarten scissors we have to work with. This heavy-duty paper cutter would benefit all students and teachers in the school. Thanks for your help!
