Physics Phun and Learning
Funded Jul 23, 2012Thank you very much for your generous gift to my physics classes. These students are hardworking, intelligent, wonderful young men and women who are trying to better themselves. Most of them come from very poor homes, but this does not stop them from working hard.
The equipment you paid for was for rocketry kits and launch supplies. Our school district is extremely strapped for funds and getting equipment is difficult. Your generosity will allow my students to explore and experience the concepts of aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, forces, and stability. As part of this unit, the students learn about all aspects of rocketry, from design to launch, and then they actually build and launch model rockets. Part of the task is to predict, using physics, the altitude the rocket will reach and then we see how close their calculations are to the actual altitude.
The pictures are of the students building and launching the rockets.
Thank you again for making it possible for these wonderful students to be able to do this project. They thoroughly enjoyed the project and learned a tremendous amount about rocketry and some of the applications of physics. They are all headed to college next year and many of them are majoring in science and engineering. Your donation helped them learn the material that they need to be successful in their college classes.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Andrade
Interactive Physics Phun
Funded Dec 21, 2011Your generous donation has made an enormous impact on my students. They are currently doing the rockets project which is fun and educational. They get to apply the physics concepts that they have learned all year to a final project that is also fun. They design, build, analyze, and do physics calculations on a model rocket. They use physics to predict the maximum altitude it will reach and then we launch the rockets and see how accurate their predictions where.
They learn physics concepts, as well as teamwork, communications, problem solving, and critical thinking.
Thank you again for your generosity and kindness.
Your generosity has not only made two more projects possible for my students and provided excellent educational opportunities for them, but have also shown that people care about them and their education. ”
With gratitude,
Mr. Andrade
Mobile Physics Phun
Funded Jul 8, 2011Thank you so much for your generous donation to my class. The materials purchased with your donation are making physics more fun for my students and helping them to learn the concepts much better.
The net book computer is being used to collect data through the force meter and then the students can analyze and manipulate the data to visualize the concepts.
The net book will also be used for other student projects, including creating presentations and publishing work. It will be used outside to collect data while students complete a variety of labs and activities to better help them understand the physics behind what they are doing.
The net book and data collection equipment allows the students to focus on the physics concepts instead of data collection. It also makes it easier to visualize the data and spot trends and patterns.
Your generosity will impact over 130 students this year and then will be used every year, for quite a while, with 130-150 physics students.
Your generosity has also shown them that people care about their education.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Andrade
Physic Phun E-text
Funded Sep 17, 2010My students have been using the materials your generous donations provided to create an online physics reference for other physics students. They have created videos, uploaded materials, and create a web site that contains all of this material, as well as links to other materials.
During this project, they have learned a tremendous amount about physics, web publishing, video and video editing, and more. They have learned while having fun. What a great thing to happen!
This project will benefit them, and all of the physics students in my school in the future as it will be a help resource for them. It will be an open site, so students from around the world could view it and use it also.
Thank you again for your generosity. You have not only provided for these students now, but also provided for future students. ”
With gratitude,
Mr. Andrade
Rocket Science
Funded Apr 21, 2008Thank you so much for your generosity! Your kindness will allow my students to apply their physics skills in a fun project and will help them develop new skills and information. Your gift will allow my students to see how science is fun and exciting. Thank you again”
With gratitude,
Mr. Andrade
Physics Phun Part 2
Funded Dec 19, 2007Thank you so much for your generous donation. These items will be used in my Physics classes to help my students learn lab skills as well as learn the physics content. Your generosity will make a huge difference in their experience in class and will help them be successful in the future. Thank you again. You are a hero to these students and public education”

Physics Phun
Funded Nov 21, 2007Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students and I truly appreciate your generosity. Your donation will enable my students to perform lab inquiries and be able to gain a deep understanding of the material. Thank you again.
Our school district is always tight on funding and your donation is a great help to us. This donation will also let the students know that people out there care for them and their education.
Again, thank you for your generosity. It is greatly appreciated and will be very useful to the students”
With gratitude,
Mr. Andrade
