  • Take as Needed: a Student First-aid & Hygiene Closet

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Wow! I am so thankful for all of the love poured into this project. This project ask and support was a special one for me. I dreamed big in hopes that I could support my students' most basic needs for health and hygiene. Thanks to the help of returning donors, a trusted colleague, faith organizations, and a local business, this project came to life. In the attached thank you package you will see the items your gift helped to support. Your gift included hair ties, deodorant, menstrual products, tooth brushes, tissues, soap, first aid supplies, and other hygiene basics. These products were available on an "as needed basis" for students to take anonymously from our supply cart which lived in the corner of our classroom. With dignity my students were able to claim what they needed! Thank you for supporting this wild wish. I am proud to share that there are still some items remaining for next year to benefit future students! You are treasured!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zwierzynski

  • Basic Supplies for the Dance Classroom

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Thank you for your support to my classroom. Your support for this project was a special one for me because it received gifts from educators across the nation, a former colleague, dear friends, family, arts partners, repeat donors, anonymous donors, and a corporate sponsor. Your gift helped me provide the basics for my classroom: hair ties, tissues, ice packs, pens and pencils. While this was not the most glamorous project to support (which may explain why I was not the best at documenting our resources in everyday use), your gifts were so needed!

Because of you, I was able to cover the everyday needs my students ask me for. "Do you have a hair tie?", I got you. "Ms. Z, do you have tissues?", I got it!, all thanks to you. These small supplies have made the everyday a little more streamlined and safe. I was able to share writing utensils when students needed to complete their journal entries or pack a proper first aide kit when we went out on tour. Included in this thank you package you will be able to witness my students performing at our trip to the Mercer County Teen Arts Festival. Thank you again for making the everyday a little bit better!”

  • What Am I Moving?: a Skeleton for the Dance Classroom

    Funded Dec 7, 2022

Thank you for your support to my classroom. Your support for this project was a special one for me because it received gifts from educators across the nation, a former colleague, a dear friend from high school, and some anonymous donors. Thanks to your support my classroom has a flexible spine skeleton! You heard our call for an updated skeleton and you showed up to make this a reality for my students. For this, I am ever grateful!

Our skeleton was a needed addition to the our classroom after our previous model broke on our move to our new school location. Our new "Bones" is a new and improved model because of the flexible spine which is used to demonstrate common misalignments and the impacts on their movement efficiency. My students approached our anatomy unity with curiosity and joy. I look forward to using this resource for years to come!”

  • Display our Work with Pride!

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting this project. Thanks to your gifts our classroom was able to receive an monitor and a screen-casting device. This display has been so useful during the last school year. It's main function has been as a display to showcase videos of our student work during back to school nights, parent teacher conferences, and orientation visits. When the device is not in use in our event space, I keep it connected in the dance classroom so my student intern and I can complete our co-planning and scheduling duties. It goes a long way to work collaboratively!

As we move into the next school year, I look forward to moving this display to be paired underneath our promethium board. I am super excited to share that I have been inspired by a teacher tech hack to use Powerpoint's instant transcription and translation service. The tv will be used to display live translations of my verbal instructions for my english language learners. How cool! Thank you for supporting my classroom. Your gift continues to have an impact.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zwierzynski

  • Aesthetic Community Wall for the Dance Classroom! (Part 1)

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

Thank for our materials for this project! Inspired by my students teacher's vision and your support, a new community wall has come to life in the dance classroom! Your gifts funded the custom neon sign with our class motto "Love you, mean it, bye", a grass wall, lights, and a polaroid printer. The printer will be used in the coming weeks to display photos of our students and add them to the community wall. We unexpectedly had some extra faux ivy/ grass that we used to transform our word wall for this year as well. I hope you are able to view the photos of your materials in action. These materials are beloved new addition to the dance room. The students are already enjoying taking class photo with it!”

My students represent a diverse group of learners from the Trenton community.
