  • Quality Books to Help With Covid-19 Interrupted Learning

    Funded Jan 20, 2022

The students that I serve greatly benefit from enriched awareness throughout the use of beautifully written - quality books. Most importantly, early experiences in diversity, cultural awareness, and/or quality fiction or nonfiction stories help young children learn to respect others, and celebrate the differences in people, and set them on the path to be caring adults. As students take home a completed book project, they will most certainly be excited to share their book project with their families!

    Thank you for your donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. C.

  • Books to Enhance Cultural Awareness

    Funded Nov 22, 2021

The students that I serve greatly benefit from enriched cultural awareness throughout the use of these beautifully written - quality books. These books about great and diverse heroes and/or cultures add to our benchmark book, literature, and writing studies. Studying great examples of characters give students a peek into the lives of different cultures, and customs.

Thank you so much for your continued support!”

  • Decodable Text for Beginning Readers

    Funded Sep 28, 2020

I am so grateful for donors that really care about students! Thank you for being such a donor. My students are so grateful for books that are on their levels that make them feel like real readers! Right away, my students grabbed the books and started decoding words! When teaching reluctant readers of poverty, this is a most satisfying sight!

Thank you again for bringing just-right readers to the children in my school. The impact is great and will have lasting benefits for years to come.... both to my students and to my future classroom students.

Your generosity will always be remembered.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. C.

  • Decodable Text for Beginning Readers

    Funded Jul 9, 2020

Thank you so much for your kind donation to increase reading engagement for my reluctant readers and keep our school headed to the Science of Reading implementation!

The students at my school generally live in poverty and do not have the advantages of typical students. Providing decodable reading material for them to experience, text that they can actually read, not only fast-tracks reading success, it is a huge self-esteem booster! The students begin to gain confidence and see themselves as readers!

Thank you again for helping us provide the materials to equalize reading opportunities of children in rural communities!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. C.

  • Quality Books Make Quality Readers

    Funded Jun 19, 2019

Our schools' reading intervention program serves every child in the school; everyone at their own reading level -- from beginning reader to gifted reader! As a part of this intervention program, we have a weekly checkout system that allows students to take home books that are exactly at their reading level. The more students read, the better readers they will become, and books at a reader's independent level encourage students to read, because they are successful with the reading task! Full enjoyment of the book is realized.

To sustain this book checkout system, your donation of quality books is priceless and much appreciated!! Thank you for helping me get books into the hands of my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. C.

Because I serve students from grades K-5 in my reading intervention room, you can imagine the vast amount of, and large variety of, materials I must provide for age appropriate learning! I need to make targeted reading skills fun and engaging. Sometimes the same skill over and over and over again presented in new and engaging ways.

Your generous donation helps keep our classroom stocked with high quality games and activities that teach reading skills in fun and engaging ways!

    Thank you for your help!”

  • Guided Reading Books

    Funded Feb 28, 2019

My students need guided reading books that are at levels 5, 6, and 7 to move them along the path of reading. My intervention students are being instructed using the University of Utah Steps program, but we are lacking the materials to make this quality program reach its fullest potential.

We simply don't have the books we need, but your generous donation is a step in the right direction. The books purchased with your donation are used in small groups during our school intervention times. The students are excited to move to new levels in reading. Your help helps make our plan and their desire a reality.”

I constantly am making targeted reading skills fun and engaging by making phonics games that are age appropriate and strategic.

Your generous donation for printer ink, card stock, and lamination film has allowed me to create the vast variety of games and activities I need to give my students more reading power. My printer rarely stops and you are the reason it can keep going.”

A large portion of my students are from single parent homes and over three quarters of the school's population are classified at the poverty level and one-fourth of that population are classified as intergenerational poverty students. When students enter kindergarten, generally 50% or more score well below grade-level on our benchmark assessments. Regardless of these disadvantages, these students are excited to learn.
