Funded Oct 18, 2022I want to start this letter off by saying how truly amazing it is to have people like you, willing to share your generosity with my students, on this earth. Ask you know, schools are in a dire situation most of the time with the funds we need to make education as fulfilling as it can be. But, with people like you, we are able to add to our experiences a little at a time.
You gave my students a whole new reading experience with your donations! We have new book boxes, capable of holding more than just books! They hold our interests, passions, stories, and future. You gave us soft, warm lighting to read by. You gave us a special time of day to set aside everything else and READ.
When my students saw their new book boxes they were ecstatic. They are bright, engaging, functional, and fun! Each student has their name on them and fills them up each Monday with books like Bad Guys, Baby Mouse, The Magic Treehouse, and more nonfiction animals books than I can describe!
Out next steps in our reading journey is to learn about habitats and gardens. We will be planting our own garden as part of the Oregon Forestry Services' Camas Restoration Project. We will learn about the people who stood on this land first and how important they are. We will learn about pollinators and how to design a place for people and animals to thrive.
I know that our new book boxes will be a special place to keep their research, writings, illustrations, and ideas. And it is all thanks to you!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Baldridge
