• Classroom Rewards

  Classroom rewards and incentives are a terrific way to inspire and encourage students. Our First Grade classrooms here at Scherkenbach run on ClassDojo points, and using student incentives as a way to celebrate academic success as well as reward exceptional behavior in the classroom has added a boost to help motivate and encourage students.

  Students really enjoy using their Dojo points to "purchase" classroom treasure box items daily/weekly. They're motivated to display positive behavior in the classroom and get excited for the end of the day clean up and Treasure Box time.

• Technology in the Classroom

  We did it!! I just wanted to reach out and personally thank you for being a donor on my classroom project. I really appreciate your kind generosity and support for my classroom.

  With your support I was able to purchase more technology for my classroom and now I have two MacBooks for my students as well as two iPads for my classroom. Students will be able to work in small group centers and participate in activities and games with the iPads.

  We look forward to using these items in the coming school year and for many years after.”

  Thank you so much for helping my students purchase a new computer to do classroom work on. Although we are trying to replace ALL our huge desktops, we are extremely grateful for the donations to purchase one amazing computer for our classroom.

  Students are able to log into the computer and play classroom learning games, practice typing skills, and play academic games along with digital word work activities. You have provided us with so many learning opportunities and for that we are extremely grateful for your support.

• Classroom Essentials

  Thank you so much for our classroom wobble chairs. Students have been able to bounce and wiggle their little hearts out in our math center as they work with peers or play math games in the classroom.

  I am so very grateful for their ability to be able to move around while being engaged with schoolwork. Having the wobble chairs in the classroom really allows our classroom to be more engaging and LOADS OF FUN while working.

• Hands-on Learning!

  This project was very exciting to get started in my classroom. My students are 1-1 Chromebook users but they do not get the hands on experience with reading manipulatives or math manipulatives to extend or engage their learning and getting the tablets along with the hands-on learning games from Oslo has really allowed by kids the opportunity to make learning more engaging and fun for them.

  My students love working with the Osmo's and even started using them with partners to collaborate with. It has been a great experience to watch my students grow and learn through hands on digital learning.”

  I am writing a letter to thank you for your generous donations that helped fund my DonorsChoose to allow my students the opportunity to engage in small group activities with phonics games.

  This was my first experience with DonorsChoose and I am blown away by your generousity. The money you used to donate to my classroom has allowed my students to participate in a variety of hands on phonics based learning games to help them get the much needed skills in reading development. They enjoy these engaging center activities and are excited to learn and practice their phonics skills.
