My Students

“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” ― Albert Einstein Creating books that are accessible by topic, interest and reading level will help students find what they are looking for to awaken their reading senses.

I am moving into an intervention position where I will pull out small groups of struggling pre-readers and readers, trying to fill the gaps so they can get back on track as readers.

I will be working with a small, flexible group of kinders and a small group of 2nd grade readers for one hour each day for guided, intentional reading groups.

My Project

These baskets will help create organized materials in which they will be able to find materials by interest and topics. Students will be able to travel to our classroom library baskets to find interesting books, find answers to topics of personal inquiry, and navigate our classroom with ease and organization.

Nelson Mandela said that education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.

I am familiar with what it takes to create a safe, fun, differentiated, and positive learning environment for students, where they can gain efficacy for learning. I believe that these items will help me to create a warm, unified learning environment for five classrooms that serve our neediest students. Please help us cover the clutter and make a warmer space for learning and reading.
