    Funded Feb 6, 2007

My heartfelt thanks to you for your generosity. Words cannot adequately express to you how deeply grateful that I am to you for your gifts. I am so excited that I cannot sleep. When I told the children about the award they yelled, screamed, and whooped like a crowd at a sporting event. To see kids that excited about materials that will help them to create brought tears to my eyes. I am deeply moved by your kindness and generosity. To know that someone cares about my students enough to donate materials that will assist them with their learning makes me proud to have chosen the profession of teaching. My passion for learning and helping others learn will not cease as long as there are individuals like you who value kids, education, and learning. I hope to repay you by continuing to work hard to insure the continued success of each and every one of my students and I will pray that God blesses you richly for your unselfishness, kindness, and generosity. Peace and Blessings to you”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. T.

  • Do Not Disturb: Authors in the Making

    Funded Jan 4, 2007

This is fabulous! I have to run over and tell my colleague about all the books we will be getting to help us with our writing instruction. Our students are currently working on pattern books, and many of these books will be useful for this style. They will be used as model texts in our two classrooms for years to come, and I am sure that the students' writing will benefit because of your generous donation! On behalf of our forty students, thank you!

    Sincerely,

    Lency ”

  • Being a Successful Criminal

    Funded Dec 27, 2006

I cannot express to you how excited I am to have a class set of this novel. Just as I used it last year, I started teaching it this year by using the one copy I have and the age-old "popcorn" method of reading. The students are so engrossed by this book that they are more than half way through before they realize how much they have read. And, it gives them encouragement that they can read and it isn't boring. I cannot begin to express my gratitude for this gift of "How to Be a Successful Criminal" for use in the academic classroom. Without knowing it, you have just saved a good number of my students from a dark future by showing them someone cares enough to buy the books and by giving them the opportunity to see someone that started in the same route they live has become very successful on his own time. Thank you so much from the very bottom of my heart”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. K.

Thank you for the Science World Subscription. In the past, this magazine has enabled my students to understand that there is Science everywhere and in everything we do. Every time I pull out old copies their faces light up with excitement. They love reading Science World, even if Science is not their favorite subject. Thank you for giving my students this gift and helping me integrate literacy and Science”
