  • Creative Play For Gifted Students

    Funded Aug 27, 2024

I am humbled and overjoyed that you decided to support this project. We live in stressful times and that stress is present for students as well. When creative play can be incorporated into a classroom setting, positive mental outcomes will surely follow. Thank you again your your support of this project. My gifted students and I truly appreciate your support.”

Thank you for supporting this project and purchasing these drawing tablets for my students. Direct support of classrooms like this is so powerful.

My students will be able to edit their photos just like the pros. I appreciate it and students appreciate it. With tools like these the bounds of creativity are endless.”

  • Level Up Our Cameras With New Tripods

    Funded Apr 11, 2019

A tripod is not a flashy tool. It's functional. It holds the camera steady. It doesn't do anything apart form that. To students who deal with physical limitations it can be a life-changing piece of equipment. Take, for example, my student, M. He has a talent for photography, but because of neurological challenges, a tripod has become an important part of his photographic process. Without it his hands shake and he finds it hard to make macro photos; a subject he loves. With a tripod, he has control over the shake and can make amazing photos revealing the exciting worlds of inner space.

These tripods, however, have not only helped M., but have been a go-to tool for all my students. There are projects that cannot be done without a good tripod and these have already seen heavy use. Thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Adney

A tripod is an invaluable tool for new photographers. Blurry photos and tilted panoramas are just some of the problems that can be solved with this useful beginner's tool. When a photo gets shaky, you need a little support. With a lightweight, low-cost tripod students will be able to create amazing photos and projects. One activity we would like to do takes a panoramic photo and uses photo editing techniques to squeeze, twist and turn a photo into a miniature planet. Without a tripod, these photos are difficult to accomplish and students become frustrated. To make creativity happen you need the right tools. Our class is lucky to have cameras, but we lack some of the accessories that let students be successful. Every class needs specialized tools; an English class needs books, a history class needs maps, and a photography class needs tripods.
