Book Bingo Bounty!
Funded Sep 21, 2021Thank you very much for supporting a love of literacy in our classroom! Incentives are always nice and pairing that with reading can, hopefully, tip the scales to where reading becomes an enjoyable habit. This semester has truly been a success with many of my students choosing to read independently; the fact that there are some pretty good prizes available is a bonus! Reading can sometimes can be a struggle for students, especially when it relates to curriculum, and nurturing a love of reading is an invaluable experience! Thank you!”

Flowing With Health and Wellness
Funded Oct 8, 2021It is certainly a time of great stress and uncertainty, especially in terms of what "school" looks like on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis. Having Nearpod and Flocabulary available is a true blessing because we can explore English Language Arts through engaging lessons and activities while also reflecting on our SEL and well-being with quick activities and check-ins. One of the ways in which I check-in with my students on how they're doing is through a quick activity that poses a question or gives my students an opportunity to visualize things; being able to do this consistently truly makes a difference. Even better, my students are more comfortable expressing themselves in a whole-class setting because I can display responses in an anonymous manner! This is so important because it's invaluable for my students to recognize that they may not be alone in how they're feeling and that others also have the same concerns/struggles. Thank you so much for your support!”

Funded Nov 2, 2021It is certainly a time of stress and anxiety, one where people of all ages are looking for ways to escape to a different place for a little while. That is why I am so thankful for your support in bringing the world of "Dune" into our classroom because books are those unique avenues through which we can meet new people, travel to new places, and be in the past, present, and future (sometimes all at the same time)! Being able to escape into a book is to be able to let our consciousness wander and explore and nothing is more powerful than a mind that is curious and yearning for adventure! I am thankful for your support in offering these opportunities to explore the world of "Dune" and it is already paying dividends with "Dune" being checked out by a couple of my students! Thank you!”

Classroom Décor for Rapport
Funded May 1, 2021What a beautiful classroom we have thanks to your support! It is amazing how much the succulents enliven and bring an energy that only plants and decorations can bring! I cannot thank you enough for your love for, and support of, our classroom; I wouldn't be able to offer my students such a nice and welcoming environment without your help! The quality of the succulents are superior and many of my students actually thought that they were real, at first glance! It's so much fun to be able to decorate our bookshelf and the various little areas in our classroom that would, otherwise, be "boring" spaces! Thank you so much for your support; it is, and will always remain, invaluable!”

Writing and Visualizing: It's in the Details
Funded Apr 7, 2021The 2020-2021 school year has definitely been a difficult one, to say the least, with classroom decorations and enhancements kept to a minimum due to COVID cleaning procedures, etc. However, with the easing of restrictions and improved situation, it is awesome to be able to finally decorate our classroom and give that extra pizzazz! The classroom is a 3-Dimensional space and being able to use all parts of it to create an environment that is welcoming and serene, one that excites the senses while also providing comfort, is a true blessing! Thank you!”

Funded Apr 3, 2021It is wonderful to have these supplies and materials for the rest of this school and ready to go for the 2021-2022 school year! I sincerely appreciate the help and support in getting our classroom reset and approaching normalcy with the availability of these supplies and materials. Hands-on learning has definitely been missing this school year, by necessity and for safety precautions, but with the availability of vaccines and the continued improvements, I am hopeful that the next school year will start-off more "normal". Thank you!”

Funded Dec 2, 2020I love doing anything that I can to increase my abilities to connect and partner with my students' parents because I wholeheartedly believe that it is only through this partnership that my students can succeed. This year's demands due to the HyFlex structure of teaching and learning has truly required all stakeholders (teachers, parents, community, students) to navigate unfamiliar territory, especially the medium through which we teach and learn. "The Distance Learning Playbook" and "The Distance Playbook for Parents" has been such a help because it addresses the obstacles of online learning while also providing practical tips, tricks, and guidance to make it easier for both teachers and parents to navigate the learning space that has been an abrupt transition for a large swatch of the population. I cannot thank you enough for helping to fund these resources because they have been invaluable in their help. As I continue to read, learn, and process the information within the resources, I can already tell that it will inform my teaching for many years to come! Thank you!”

Funded Dec 2, 2020As the 2020-2021 school year enters the home-stretch, I remain thankful for the astounding level of support that you have shown for our classroom. It was unimaginable to me prior to this school year starting that something as simple as a second, larger monitor would make such a huge difference to the level of fluidity within our classroom as we navigate the HyFlex structure of teaching and learning. I don't have to squint to see words and I have more than enough screen space to see my Zoom students while also switching from the chatbox to their individual windows. The funding of this project has been such a boon to me and I cannot thank you enough for your help in making this difficult year just a little bit easier!”

Funded Nov 28, 2020There is so much to be thankful for in our world today despite all of the obstacles that present themselves. One of the things that I am especially thankful for are the people who bring attention to the inequities and inequalities that occur in society like Bryan Stevenson. "Just Mercy" is such a powerful retelling of real events that impacts people even to today and I am so thankful that you have chosen to support our project for this critically important book. Using it as a companion piece to "To Kill a Mockingbird" allows me to bridge time, place, space, and society in a comparative manner that truly illuminates how Tom Robinson's plight is no different (but still tragically unfortunate) as that of Walter McMillian's circumstances. Your help and support is so important to our classroom and I remain thankful for your decision to donate to our project for "Just Mercy".”

Funded Jan 2, 2021Thank you so much for helping us fund our project! I am very grateful to have had no complaints from my students about not being able to hear me. When I review the recordings of our Zoom sessions, the sound is crisp and clear now as compared to the static and uneven sounds prior to using our microphone. We recently had snow/inclement weather days where we transitioned to virtual learning from home for about two weeks and the wi-fi booster was SUPER helpful as I did not experience any lost connections or "low bandwidth" warnings while teaching class from home! Overall, thank you very much for supporting us with these critical pieces of equipment that have all made a HUGE difference in my ability to teach wherever and whenever!”
