Science Learning Tools
Funded May 25, 2015Thank you so much for your gracious donation to my classroom so that my kids can have more hands on experiences in Science. When I hung the solar system up the kids begged to turn the lights off so they could see them glow, and then they promptly decided who was which planet and singing the StoryBots planet song. They were so excited to create circuits using our battery holders since I wouldn't let them hold the battery and the wires because it gets so hot, but now they can! They LOVE LOVE LOVE the energy sticks. They love them so much that they drive me crazy playing with them but I love hearing and seeing them run around saying "if I tag you I complete the circuit...HAHA ENERGY!!!" (while tagging another student) and then "Energy Gone!!!" when they let go of the other student. It really is quiet funny. Hopefully my explanation made sense. Magic School Bus and Ms. Frizzle is the BEST way to learn about science concepts and since my new school doesn't pay for safari montage having this COMPLETE DVD set helps my kids learn exciting science concepts like inside the human body, traveling to space and habitats with the whole gang. I love the end of the episodes when they break down the "real science". The rock collection has had my kids coming in showing me various rocks they have found around their neighborhood to see if they match the ones in our collection. I can't thank you enough for fostering this love of Science with me. It is truly amazing.”

Creating Tech Savvy Kiddos
Funded Aug 25, 2015I cannot thank you enough for donating to my classroom so that we have more computers in our classroom. We are able to have almost as many computers as we have students which works out great for center activities, research an self exploration during Genius Hour. We are going to be participating in Hour of Code in December and having these extra computers will allow us to have more students participating at a time. Students are able to use Google classroom which is an up and coming initiative in the county we learn in. My students love the bright red Chromebooks, they almost fight over who gets the red ones. I think it is mostly because they are new and shiny but I would want the red computer too! I am so excited to be able to share technology with my students and help them understand there is so much more that computers can do for us other than let us listen to Youtube Music and play games on coolmath.com. Thank you again for helping me give this opportunity to my students!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Maddox
