  • Make Our Classroom Great 2

    Funded Jun 25, 2025

Thank you for helping me bring supplies to give out to my kids the first day! The zippered pencil bags will be a great addition to the items the kids can choose from. Any extra items will be put into the student supply bin so kids can grab them when needed. I try to give out items kids need during the year so they don't feel bad taking them. I want my math class to be all about math and I don't want kids to worry about whether they have the supplies needed or not. This creates a less stressful environment for all people. Thank you for everything you have done for my classroom over the years. I can't do this without your kindness and generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fitzhugh

  • 8th Grade Leaders

    Funded Jun 23, 2025

Thank you for helping us continue our 8th grade leaders initiative in our whole school. 8th grade students are chosen each month to continue being positive leaders in our school. Teaches choose these kids and thy are acknowledged at the 8th grade lunch. This project allows us to continue that tradition in our school and I am so thankful for your support and love for not only me, but my entire school. The sports items will be available during lunch so kids can try to get outside and be active. These will be helpful when the weather is nice and allow kids to get fresh air. I am thankful for your help to our school. Have a great day.”

  • Book Vending Machine Re-stock 2025

    Funded Jun 11, 2025

Your book donation makes a huge impact on our whole entire school. Our kids can earn tokens many different ways around our school, but they must show they are following our expectations. I appreciate your kindness towards our whole school because I care about all of our students, not just my own. I want all kids to enjoy reading and I will do anything to help with that as well. As we were filling our book vending machine, summer school teachers were getting ready for the summer school to start. many stopped to admire the machine and said they wanted to get a new book out of that amazing machine. Haha.. It's for students:) They were in awe of it and thought our kids will really appreciate the new books. They saw so many titles they loved and they knew our kids would as well. I asked many of my students for suggestions for the machine because they are the ultimate gurus of what kids their age want. I made sure to take their suggestions and get those titles in our machine. We have many books stocked at the bottom to replace books as they are bought up. Thank you again for your kindness and love for our school. You are an angel!!!”

  • Fitzhugh Store 2025

    Funded Jun 5, 2025

Thank you for helping me bring these class store items to my new classes in August. My kids loved the crochet animals and desk pets and I have to stock up for the new kiddos. The LEGO vending machine will be a hit and the kids will absolutely love getting the items with their Fitzhugh bucks. Thank you for allowing me to continue to be able to do this for my kids. It is something they really remember from middle school. I appreciate your kindness and love for my classes.

Thank you to my monthly anonymous donor, I can bring these items to incoming students. You are an angel for helping my classroom monthly and I wish I could thank you personally:) I hope you receive this message so you know how much of an impact you made on not only my classroom, but my school as a whole. I greatly appreciate everything. THANK YOU!”

  • Care Closet Stock Up - 2025

    Funded May 30, 2025

Thank you for helping us stock up our care closet for our middle school! We were able to get hygiene items and clothes. Sometimes kids need items in the summer, but they will definitely need items in the new year. Kids have accidents and middle schoolers grow out of their clothes quickly. It is hard when you don't have a lot of resources in your household and sometimes kids just need help with clothes or hygiene items. I thank you so much for donating to my class/school monthly. This would not be possible without you! I appreciate your kindness.”

Thank you for visiting my DonorsChoose classroom page. My school is located in a city and about 3/4 of our population is considered low income. We have a diverse population of learners including gifted learners and special needs children. I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade math. I believe that any child can learn, so I push each and every one of them to do their absolute best in math. I also believe in learning from our mistakes. Mistakes happen and they don't define us. I want my kids to feel comfortable making and learning form mistakes. We all make them, but the most important part is what do we do with them. My kids hopefully know that I am there for them every step of the way, to support and guide them. I appreciate you taking the time to look at my projects and possibly donate today.
