  • ISTE Inspiration To Create 21st Century Global Learners!

    Funded Dec 5, 2017

Where do I even start? The opportunity to attend the International Society for Technology Education conference, ISTE, has long been a dream of mine! To be able to attend this conference meant I was able to connect with passionate educators from around the world that are all committed to expanding the horizons of education technology. This held true with my roommates as well. I spent the week in an Airbnb with a group of first grade teachers from around the Midwest that I met and have collaborated with on Twitter for over 5 years. For many of us, this was our first time meeting face to face, although if you had seen us, you would never have guessed it! During the day, we attended the conference and experienced a wide variety of sessions, workshops, and playground activities that challenged our thinking and provided us with resources and knowledge that we could bring back to our classrooms. In the evenings, we spent time debriefing and sharing all that we had learned. Most nights we had our own mini professional development sessions into the wee hours of the morning where someone in the group would teach the rest of us a new idea and we would all spend time trying it out and brainstorming ways that we could implement the idea into our classrooms. The entire experience was beyond any other PD I have ever attended and has left me with many ideas that will transform my teaching. I'm excited to bring my new learning and experiences to those that I work with as well.

Thank you again for your generous donation to this project as without them, I would not have been able to attend this amazing event!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Malchow

  • Dashing Into Coding and Robotics

    Funded Jun 5, 2017

I'd like to start by apologizing for such being so late in writing this letter. We had some family situations that have required me to ask for several extensions. My sincerest apologies!

I am extremely grateful for your generous donation to my students' learning environment. Our project was funded over the summer months and our items arrived several weeks after the school year started. Your donation was used to purchase two Wonder Workshop Dash robots will become an integral tool in our coding endeavors. My students were extremely excited when the package arrived and are beyond excited to begin using Dash in coding simulations. Coding is such an important part of preparing students for their futures and I'm thrilled to be able this new challenge to my students to enhance their coding skills!

Thank you again for your generous donation and for your support of education. You have made a huge difference in the learning, critical thinking and problem solving skills that my students will be able to utilize and I am extremely grateful!”

  • Flexible Tech

    Funded Oct 18, 2016

I am writing this letter to thank you for your donation to my students' learning environment. Once our project was funded, the lap desks that your generosity helped to provide arrived within just a couple of weeks!

My students were very excited as they saw the packages begin to arrive and are loving the new variety of seating options that are available to them with the use of the lap desks when utilizing the Chromebooks. The lap desks have been a popular addition to our library space as they provide students choice in their learning environment. It's not uncommon to now see students grab a lap desk and head over to a couch or sit on the floor. There isn't a day that goes by that the lap desks are not being utilized! It's exciting to see the additional motivation for learning as students choose the learning space that they feel is the best for them.

Thank you again for your generous donation and for your support of education. You have made a big difference in my students' learning environment and we are extremely grateful!”

    With gratitude,

  • Flexible Seating=Student Choice and Flexible Learning Spaces

    Funded Jul 18, 2016

    Dear Donors,

I am writing this letter to thank you for your generous donation to my students' learning environment. Our project was funded over the summer months and our items arrived several weeks after the school year started. Your donation was used to purchase a class set of clipboards, a pair of Runtz ball chairs, a lamp, and several lap desks that we use with our Chromebooks.

My students were very excited as they saw packages begin to arrive and are loving the new variety of options that they now have available. Sitting or laying, our Runtz ball chairs are definitely the students' favorite as you can see from our pictures. The clipboards and lap desks have also been popular as they provide student choice and allow students to work in a variety of locations, we no longer need to stay at a desk or table. My students are loving every minute they get to spend using our new flexible learning options and I am excited to see the additional motivation for learning as they choose their learning spaces.

Thank you again for your generous donation and for your support of education. You have made a big difference in my students' learning environment and we are extremely grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Malchow
