Getting this camera would help to develop a photography class, which would expose students to new art forms and further expand their knowledge of the arts. The camera will also help aid the other art classes in being able to learn about how to document their progress and develop a professional, web-based digital portfolio. Students would be able to use their web-based portfolios to apply to colleges, internships, and jobs. They would also use these portfolios to share their work with family, peers, and even customers. A photography class will give students the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of becoming a professional photographer. Students will learn to view the world through the eyes of a photographer. As each lesson builds on the last students will continue to develop their skills and learn to see the nuances of what makes a great photo. Lessons will include a variety of different composition techniques, posing people and props, as well as how to adjust the f-stops, shutter speeds, and ISO within the camera for different lighting situations. By donating to this project you will help to develop a photography class for students. This will give them an opportunity to build a skill they could continue with beyond high school and even turn into a career!
