When Shape Takes Form!
Funded Dec 14, 2016Upon arrival of all of the clay and sculptural materials the classes were so excited! Having so much clay delivered was such a sight to see. The children are always eager to use clay because it is very forgiving and we can always start over. Clay is an amazing confidence builder when the children see such amazing and surprising results. It is also something that they do not get to use often.
We have created a ceramic business utilizing all of the clay and tools combined to sell everything we make at our Farmers Market and Carnival. The children are learning how to make something that is beautiful, that is functional, and most importantly it will sell. They are learning to craft, lanterns, sets of bowls and plates, and garden items. They are also learning to make small flower pots that they will fill with our child grown seedlings from the garden.
These will all be priced and sold by the children.
This is a cherished, fun educational experience that will make money back for or school. It is a win-win. Thank you so much for allowing us the opportunity to play, learn and grow with our shape takes form creations.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Heather
Building a Dream
Funded Feb 1, 2013Your generosity has enabled our class to really see geometry in a different light. The students have enjoyed the magnetic building set in so many ways. They have challenged eachother to create specific geometric forms and to be creative with the forms as well. These students have so much energy that when they are finished with their core subjects, they always want to keep creating. The materials we purchased with the Donors Choose money will last through many years of students and fun the class room.
Thank you again!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Heather
