My students attend a K-3rd elementary school in South Carolina. Our community is partially rural, with a small-town feel. We are a diverse and growing community, but unfortunately we don't have a lot of industry. That has meant budget cuts, and our classrooms could use a little help! Our students love to listen to stories, and we are learning to draw and write to express our ideas. However, we are lacking in fun and age-appropriate materials we can manipulate in our hands. Many of our students are lacking an enriched environment at home, and they need stimulating materials at school to motivate them to love learning. Our district values hands-on learning, but unfortunately the funding to help us reach that goal is simple not there right now.
